Legalize it. Regulate it. Tax it.

Here at LetThePeoplePlay.org, we are outraged at our government's decision to ban online poker. Playing poker is an American tradition, being able to play online is just an extension of this great past time. With pedophilia running rampart within Washington's walls, we find it not only an insult but an outrage that the government is trying to distract our collective concious from the horrors of their own members and instead focus in on making criminals out of poker players. The goal of our organization is to STOP this blatant attack on poker. With the elections coming up, we are gathering all our ammo and trying desperately to STOP these hypocrites from returning to office. Originally, the legislation to ban online poker was passed by the House of Representitives in H.R.4411.

From there the bill was going onto the Senate for decision. Then, in a sneaky little move, the House attached an amendment to a Homeland Port Security bill which aims to strip us of our poker playing rights. The UIGEA, Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act as it's been dubbed, has now been PASSED. What does playing poker have to do with port security? We need common sense restored to Washington. At the last minute, in a back room deal, they changed the bill and took out a provision requiring background checks for port workers and added an amendment aimed at eliminating online poker. The message they are sending is that it is OK for convicted felons to work in secure areas of our ports but it is NOT OK to play poker online. Dennis Hastert felt it was more important to make criminals out of poker players than to adequately protect our ports security.

This is outrageous. It is time our politicians got there priorities straight! If online poker was legalized, regulated and taxed it would generate billions in revenue. With that money we could ensure background checks are preformed on all port workers and still have billions of dollars left over for other pressing issues facing this country. LetThePeoplePlay.org wants to send a clear message to Dennis Hastert and all other enemies of Freedom, we are outraged by your actions! Join our fight today.
